How we handle your information
Ridgeback collects some personal information when you request a quote. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Last updated: 25 August 2026. This policy covers ridgebackworkwear.co.za and applies to South African visitors under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Information we collect
When you build a quote and submit the request form, we collect: your name, company name, email address, phone number, delivery area (if provided), preferred contact method, any notes you add, and the list of products, sizes and quantities in your quote. We don't collect payment details, we don't run a checkout, and there's no login or account.
Browsing the catalogue itself doesn't send us anything. The items you add
to a quote are kept in your own browser (localStorage) until
you actually submit the form, we have no visibility into an in-progress
quote you haven't sent.
How we use it
Solely to prepare and send you a written quote, and to follow up if we need more detail to price your order accurately (sizing, branding, delivery). We don't use your details for marketing, and we don't add you to a mailing list without asking first.
Storage and retention
Your submission is sent by email to our quotes inbox. Once quote requests are stored in a database (a planned addition, not live yet), the same information described above is what's kept, nothing extra, and only for as long as reasonably needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting order. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, see "Your rights" below.
Sharing your information
We don't sell or rent your information to anyone. It's shared only with the service providers that help us run this process, our email delivery provider (so your quote request actually reaches us) and our hosting provider. None of them use your details for their own purposes.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not currently use cookies, trackers or analytics of any kind. If that changes (for example, adding Google Analytics), we'll show a consent notice before anything runs, and update this page first.
Your rights
Under POPIA, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete your information entirely. Email sales@ridgebackworkwear.co.za with your request and we'll action it promptly.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and since we don't take payment or store card details, there's no payment data to protect in the first place. Access to any stored quote data is restricted to Ridgeback staff.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle your information changes, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes (like adding analytics or a customer account system) will be called out clearly, not buried in a rewrite.
